IASCO MASS CAST is a water clear casting polyester resin formulated to withstand the high heat and stress of thick section cure. It is possible to achieve thick section cure up to 8 inches cubed. The key to success with MASS CAST is in the catalyst ratio. Too much catalyst, and the part will crack and burn (polyester resins can generate up to 330 F. at peak exothermic reaction), too little catalyst, and the surface will remain tacky. Guidelines for catalyst ratio (77F): 1″ thick pour – 10 drops catalyst per ounce of MASS CAST; 2″ thick pour – 6 drops catalyst per ounce of MASS CAST; 3″
