IASCO Plastisols #90 and #97 are a high solids, vinyl dispersion formulation which exhibit high strength and stiffness at a hardness approximately equal to their part numbers as these numbers appear on the A Shore Durometer

Hardness Scale. The uncured material in it’s original liquid state may be stored up to a year in a cool environment.

Due to the high solids content, stratification of components is possible with a resultant shift in properties if the

material is left dormant for long periods of time. Fresh material however, proves to be a pleasure and delight when

properly cured, exhibiting a deep strength and density while capturing fine detail through the molding process.

Caution: Do not burn plastisol or spill in oven. Smoke from burning vinyl is extremely irritating to eyes and lungs.

Use aluminum tray or foil on bottom of oven to keep hot surfaces clean.

For use in aluminum molds:

1) Pigment Plastisol using IASCO opaque plastisol pigments in the ratio of 1-2 ounces pigment per quart of plastisol.

2) For general casting pour plastisol into cold aluminum mold – Don’t spill in oven. Cook at 375oF for 20-30 min.

3) For slush casting pour plastisol into a pre heated (400oF for 20 min.) mold and allow the plastisol to dwell in the hot mold for 90 seconds. The plastisol will solidify as it hits the hot metal, leaving a wall thickness of about 1/8”. Pour out excess plastisol (back into the can) and post cure mold at 375oF. for 20-30 min.

4) For rotational molding pour into cold mold and make sure the mold does not leak. Process in a rotational oven

for 30 min. at 375oF. Hand rotation is executed using a pre heated mold (400oF. for 20 min.) and heavy duty hot mitts. Pour cold plastisol into preheated mold and quickly bolt together (careful – HOT). Rotate biaxially by hand for 5 min. and post cure 375oF. 30 min.

5) Keep in mind that brittle or weak castings are a sign of under cured plastisol. Increase time in 5 min. increments to next cure
